Hey guys, just recently Jagex has announced that they will be holding their first ever Bonus EXP Weekend. I, like many others, plan to take advantage of this update. I thought I would share some of my plans with some of my readers so you can get an ideal of what I'll be doing.
First off, I want to mention that the double EXP really only lasts for the first 3 hours you log in during the weekend. If you take a look at the graph, you can see that it starts at 2.9X EXP and slowly declines to 1.1X EXP over a period of about 10 hours. I recommend everyone plan their time accordingly or you will be wasting this great opportunity.
Obviously, there will be an emphasis on the skills that cost the most money. A few examples of these would be construction, magic, herblore, summoning among others. As Jagex mentioned, there will be an increase in aggregate demand in the 2 or so weeks leading up to this event. My recommendation to everyone is to start stockpiling supplies NOW if you have not already done so. In the days before the weekend, I believe most items in the GE will be nearly impossible to buy.
As far as personal plans go, I'll be training herblore and magic during this weekend. Right now, I'm farming avantoes and saving them in my bank. Using the avantoes, I'll make about 500 super energy potions as soon as I log in. This will bring me from 68-70 herblore. After that, I'll be stringing jewlrey using the astrals and gold amulets I have been buying. I hope to possibly get from 94 to 97 or so magic. Even though I won't have the 2X multiplier the whole weekend, the 1.1X bonus will still save me some money.
Onto further plans, magic will most likely be my next 99. I'm pretty sure I've got the bank to do it and I've always really enjoyed the cape. For those unfamiliar with my account, this will be my 5th 99. From there on, I'm still not completely positive on what 99 number 6 will be.
To conclude, I hope everyone takes advantage of this double EXP weekend. Who knows if Jagex will continue this or if this will be the only one. Buy supplies early and plan ahead to make the best out of this opportunity.
Best of luck to everyone!
~Carson
